galileo information.jpgOn 9 December 2005, the GALILEO Information Centre (GIC) for Latin America was opened in São José dos Campos, close to São Paulo/Brazil.

The Centre - hosted in "Centro Regional de Educação em Ciência e Tecnologias Espaciais para America Latina e Caribe (CRECTEALC)" - is created for the benefit of cooperation with all Latin American countries and aims to constitute a focal point for the promotion of GALILEO services and applications in the region. Its main mission is to implement information and training activities and to facilitate interaction between GNSS actors in Latin America and Europe.

Galileo System successfull launches second satellite

Europe's Galileo satellite navigation system took another step forward on Sunday with the launch of a second experimental satellite.
